We are a Mexico City-based company founded in 2002 by Luis Eduardo Barrios Sánchez. Since its inception, Hoteles City has focused on presenting the market with a new approach to hospitality that prioritizes design, innovation, and construction. This included the operation and management of hotels through a local brand that significantly benefited customers and caught the attention of large chains such as Marriott.
This finally led to the integration of the Hoteles City brand into this international hotel chain, and, in May 2023, we concluded the sale of our 5 brands (City Express, City Express Plus, City Express Suites, City Express Junior, and City Centro), the loyalty program (City Premios Rewards), associated brands, domains, and intellectual property to Marriott International.
This established a strategic relationship to continue operating and managing the hotels, now backed by the “By Marriott” brand, while also coordinating and managing new projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Promotora de Hoteles Norte 19 was born from this success story that transformed the hotel industry in Mexico and resulted in the strategic relationship with Marriott International, making us the largest operator and manager-by number of hotels-for Marriott in the region. Norte 19 can develop and operate other brands in different market segments, which we will be able to leverage to continue growing in the region, we retain the business model that we previously had at City Express Hotels, and we will continue to operate our different business divisions (hotel assets, hotel operator, developer, and technology platform).

Our offerings include a hotel investment fund, a professional team for operations, design and development of tourism projects and the development and operation of technology solutions for hotel management and marketing.

At Norte 19 we offer a vertical service, providing solutions for construction, development, operation, and technology needs in the hospitality sector. Strong integration of our operations and marketing, affords us a clear vision of consumer behavior, allows for a prompt response to their needs, and faster communication and coordination with our distribution network. This results in premium hotels and high-quality service which are supported by our single-manager structure.
Our patented technology allows us to react faster to market dynamics at a lower cost, resulting in a more flexible and efficient operation. We offer in-depth knowledge of the local market and the brands' target customers.
Our culture is based on rigorous planning and discipline that rests on 9 core principles, a flat organizational structure, and the empowerment of our team. Our local advertising budget allows us to respond rapidly and align carefully to the day-to-day needs of each of our hotels and the company.
Hotel Management
We currently operate more than 150 hotels to international standards, ranging from the midscale segment, to select services and full service. Our team is comprised of professionals with extensive experience in both operating in local markets and marketing using traditional and digital media. Norte 19's professional team has a vast experience in the hotel sector, having developed more than 5 recognized brands in our industry. We currently operate more than 17,000 rooms in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Costa Rica, in addition to the approval of several hotel chains to operate their brands.
Project Development
We design hotels with our own concepts, and we also develop projects that align with the standards of established brands. Our team of experts ensures quality in all stages of the project, meeting requirements and optimizing costs to ensure the success of each hotel. We have developed more than 1,000,000 m2 of integrated projects for the hotel industry, including interior design and equipment. Our team adapts each project to your needs, whether they are new hotels, remodeling projects, or conversions.
Technology
We develop specialized software for the hospitality industry that gives owners and operators greater control of their business while streamlining decision-making. We have tools that improve development, operations, distribution, support and guest experiences as well as optimizing digital distribution.

In Norte 19 we believe that we are all guests of this world and what really matters is that following our stay we leave a positive footprint for the future. This is how Norte 19, through the development and operation of national and international hotels, reaffirms its sustainable commitment, which distinguishes it as the first company in Mexico to implement sustainable measures in the services it offers.
Goals for 2025
Increase the participation of hotels incorporated in the portfolio under the environmental volunteer program by 80%.
Implement initiatives that support our carbon capture and mitigation strategy.
Reduce gas consumption by 5%, water consumption by 4%, and electricity consumption by 3%.
Support the global commitment to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050 - Glasgow Declaration.
Continue with the organizations active commitment to the incorporation and monitoring of international ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards.
Our Sustainable Model

Our 2023 achievements
Social investment of 4.8 million pesos, allocating 60% in kind with the donation of 1,922 nights of accommodation, and the remaining 40% as an economic investment for social projects and emissions offsets.
We generated alliances with 30 organizations and institutions that work for the benefit of the environment and society.
We reduced water use by 2.37%. By the end of 2023, we operated 43 hotels using natural gas, which will enable us to implement initiatives which support the energy transition.
We encouraged the participation of 989 volunteers from 100 hotels through our Environmental Volunteer Program.
Our actions contributed to the advancement of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established in the 2030 Agenda of the UN (United Nations).

Corporate Governance Policies
Norte 19 has policies and guidelines that regulate the activities that its personnel carry out as part of their daily activities, directly or indirectly with a public official, government employee, national or international public organization, or with a member of a political party, or a candidate for public office, any government department or agency, or any official or employee of a government-owned company.
Code of Ethics
Through the Code of Ethics, we instituted a framework of behavior that outlines the principles that drive our company. The Code of Ethics is a mechanism to prevent corruption at any level. It is available for consultation here, as well as being distributed in various internal communication channels, public materials, statements to the media, bids with suppliers, among others, and is applicable to all our stakeholders.

Norte 19 has a policy that regulates the Complaints Procedure in detained form. This policy seeks to be a guide to support our employees in reporting illegal activities or activities that conflict with the guidelines of any of the internal policies or Code of Ethics of the organization.
